Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Alex Cohen, who has been very active on Instagram, announced she is closing her account. It was always a fun read. She said she'd doing it to spend more time away from screens. But I have to wonder if the negativity around the team now made her a target of sorts. I saw one post from a quasi-news site going after Steve, saying his Mets fandom is overblown and that he's more of a Knicks fan. A shame to see this kind of stuff happen.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted January 6 Posted January 6 If her feedback was anything like what the Baltimore kicker received after missing a GW FG Sunday night then I'd shut it down too.The first year kicker had a joint page with his fiancee about their upcoming wedding. Comments started with 'I hope you two get divorced' and then degraded from there.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Not all screens are equal, but spending less time with them in general is usually good.Depends on what you end up spending more time with, of course, but not a lot of people get turned into terrorists planting flowers or teaching fingerpainting.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted January 6 Posted January 6 The families of team owners generally aren't well known and/or stay out of the spotlight. The last one I remember was Georgia Frontiere, wife of the owner of the LA Rams football team. But in this day of the internet, they are more visible and reachable. I'm surprised this kind of stuff doesn't happen more often.Later

And as more and more interactions become virtual, I wonder if we'll have to make a conscious move to civility, or if everyone is just going to end up being *******s to each other.
