Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 I cruised through 'disbelief' and now find myself mired in stage 2, 'anger.' I predict also skipping right over stage 3 ('bargaining') before settling in to a postseason where I wear stage 4 ('depression') like a fall flannel.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 I think with this long slow descent I've been at "acceptance" for a long time, anger at how gutless it all was , **** them, I don't want to hear anything from Cohen either
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 I think my denial period was pretty significant. For a long, long time I kept thinking they would find it.I'm squarely in anger right now. I think I'll live here for a few days.

I figured they still might pull it out and stagger into the postseason (and an early exit) but I also came to terms with the notion that we'd end up disappointed.2007 gnawed at me a lot more than 2025 did.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 I'm into the next level - anticipation.I can't wait for the start of the Arizona Fall League season. There's one Mets player I'm very interested in following.Later
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 I'll be stuck in anger for a while. This was 2024 in reverse, and the long, slow, painful descent is going to leave a mark. They could have a 20-game lead next year and I won't trust them to not blow it.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2025 Author Posted September 30, 2025 Yep. Still pretty pissed. It'll be worse tomorrow when I join my wife for our weekly brew pub trivia gathering with her coworkers. They always have baseball on the TVs there and I'm sure I'll have to listen to a bunch of mouth breathing MFY fans. Hopefully they'll be down 10-0 early.
