Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted September 22 Posted September 22 I can honestly say I have not paid as much attention to 2026 as I have in years' past. Even 2025, when I fell off, I paid more attention to. I can't remember the last time I watched a whole game as it was happening, though I do make efforts to catch up and watch all the games eventually. But even then, I have them playing in another tab, volume down, with me checking in for 15-30 seconds at a time (usually to see the Mets losing). I'm eager to see 2026 highlight and retrospective videos so I can see just how much I actually missed, or conversely, to see just how present I actually was. I mean, I know the names. I can recognize the faces. But there's no connection to this team. There wasn't much connection to the 2025 team, either.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 22 Posted September 22 I haven't watched at all since early July. I saw one at-bat this month because I was in Greece and was curious to see if my MLB account worked from there. I saw Francisco Lindor fly out to right field. That's all the baseball I've watched in nearly three months. Maybe I'll take another peek before the regular season ends, given that 2027 is very uncertain it might be a while before I can watch the Mets again.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 22 Posted September 22 I’m gonna watch tonight. I watch games when I’m home. But make no effort to watch or follow games when busy.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 22 Posted September 22 I think you are misreading that. A Thursday afternoon game between the Rangers and Mets is not a Peacock exclusive. It’ll be on SNY as usual. It might also be on Peacock if you’re not in the NY or Dallas markets.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22 Author Posted September 22 I'll find out, I dropped SNY a week ago

You are correct sir! SNY local Peacock outside of the area. I got over excited
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22 Author Posted September 22 Gore Texas Rangers Langford 7 Seager 6 Jung 5 Burger 3 Nimmo 9 Duran 8 Foscue 4 Diaz DH Jansen 2 Gore 1 8-11 4.68
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Two solid blasts in the first got run down by the Texas outfield. This Langford guy, who made one of those catches, got sent down swinging along with Seagar to start off against Manaea. I can't even see the stadium and it seems to make for a boring setting for baseball. STRIKE THREE ON YOUNG!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Nimmo taking the early lead in The Battle of Vengeance.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 23 Posted September 23 There are two distance markers on the LF wall only a few feet apart. It's apparently 329 on the LF line but just a few feet over it's marked at 334. An odd choice to be sure.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 23 Posted September 23 The Rangers are afraid of other Rangers.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Manaea living dangerously here. A couple of balls that could have been worse than they were.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Mr. Greenjeans seems pretty committed to a pure platoon of Baty and Vientos. Which could certainly be a productive thing, until an injury turns them both back into fulltimers, like Polanco's did this season.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 23 Posted September 23 The conundrum that is Francisco Alvarez in two consecutive pitches.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 23 Posted September 23 I don't know what's the greater gift — their defensive miscues or that they're the only team in the league that pitches Alvarez down.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Nice comeback by Francisco there because, no Gary, unfortunately that was NOT a surprising challenge by Alvarez. It was a typical one (wrong call, wrong spot, wrong situation).
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Maybe I've seen a weirder sac fly at some point in my life, but I can't think of it. Maybe in Prep League.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Pretty nutso affair tonite, eh
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 23 Posted September 23 By the way, if you back it up to that sacrifice "fly," Alvarez didn't touch home plate.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Keith seemed to be sleepwalking through the last series, but nothing animates him like bad fundies.

Well, he reached back for the plate after the slide so he did touch. Also, the ump called him safe on the original slide so he was safe either way.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Ewing is rightfully safe after review, but that doesn't change the fact that he got caught with his pants down. And after burning the last challenge on a ball completely in the zone, it's been a rookie inning for the guy.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted September 23 Posted September 23 The hockey Rangers already lost tonight. Do you think they get together for a picinc Mike?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Gratifying win, but that sure didn't look like a playoff team in the other dug.
