ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago It's a Mets road trip to Tampa Bay for a series against the AL East leaders It's a typical Rays no name team with the exception of Junior Caminero It feels like the league has seen enough of Robert Stock to capitalize on his command issue LGM

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I read that Stock is with the Mets to eat up innings and spare the young arms. I suppose, in a lost season, that's not a terrible idea. But I'm not sure exactly whose arms are being spared.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Robert Stock — three good starts and two very bad ones. Due for a goody. Additionally, please be extended for the Mayor Cedricton, Cedric Mullins. Also ... HOLY SHIT! MARK VIENTOS!! I read that McLain, Scott and Thornton have exceeded or are about to exceed the most innings they have pitched in a year and that the Mets are monitoring their pitch counts very carefully. Later
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Vientos against a lefty starter! That's what happens when you hit three homers in a AAA rehab game. Who went down? As reported in another post, Nick Moraboto was brought up when Roberts was claimed. Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I believe Morabito isn't due up until tomorrow.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted 9 hours ago Author Posted 9 hours ago Morabito tomorrow 9/1 More than most Vientos needs to have a very good September hustle included MFS62 1
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago If you're not crazy about seeing Stock, here are a couple of guys who might be here if not for him: Jonah Tong has picked things up as of late in Syracuse. He has a 2.39 ERA in the month of August, and that includes his stinker on August 5 where he gave up 5 HR in 5 IP. In his last 4 starts, he's pitched 21.1 innings, and given up 2 ER. That will play. I wouldn't be shocked if Jonah gets the call the next time through, but maybe the Mets want him to finish the season strong in AAA. Tobias Myers seems to be getting it back too. 2.89 ERA in August. In his last 5 appearances, he's pitched 12.1 innings, with 2 ER. Looks like he's been used as a reliever, so not really a starting option. Jack Wenninger probably needs more time. 5.00 ERA in August, though his WHIP is down to 1.06. That follows a 4.91 ERA, 1.58 WHIP in July. So yeah, not ready. Jonathan Santucci has a 7.58 ERA and 2.00 WHIP ion 5 starts at AAA. Not a realistic option. Not a starter, but Dylan Ross is unscored upon in his last 6 outings (6.2 IP).
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Not just the results. Young really looks good ag'in' lefties.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Even from the center field camera, Seymour doesn't look like he's touching the rubber.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Seriously terrific work from Francisco Lindor.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted 7 hours ago Author Posted 7 hours ago Great play by Lindor Today is one of those days that watching the Mets just leaves my sad and empty Yes, they will likely shutdown a couple of starters, especially Scott, and this seems wise It's been a long 2025-26
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Don't let it get you down. The Mets have the lead and Robert Stock tops this list of all-time 'ocks! Robert Stock John Locke John Hancock Gina Schock Mr. Spock The Rock Chris Rock Lawrence Block Jack Glasscock Shylock
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Morell is not the most graceful of outfielders, but he just saved my butt.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago If that bouncer/botched GiDP to Lindor remains scored as a hit then just do away with the classification of 'Error' altogether because it has lost all meaning. If the inning-ending ball had gone off Morel's glove, as it very nearly did, that would have been the fourth NYM glove to touch the ball in the same inning without actually gloving it [the hot shot off Bichette's AND Lindor's glove; the bouncer off Lindor's; and very nearly off Morel's] and, sadly, all the runs scored as a result (likely at least three) would have gone down as 'Earned'.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago That's a nice outfit Michelle Margaux is almost wearing.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Not much to like about this ballpark, but I swoon for the on-field bullpens, and like the outfield foul territory it brings into play even more.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Duarte not smuarte giving up the first walk with Caminero on deck as the tying runski.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago Stock was pulled after 71 pitches My sister in law liked going to the Trop when she lived Tampa. Cheap tickets, cheap hot dogs and total privacy if you want it

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago And speaking of pitchers you don't want ... it's Steven Matz!!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago And now Cristian Pache has a non-zero OPS as a Met!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Pinch-hitting a lefty for a righty against a lefty. The right move, but that has to sting for Alvarez.
Jonah Tong Syracuse Mets - AAA RHP On Saturday, the 23-year-old threw 7 shutout innings and gave up just one hit. He walked 2 batters and had 8 strikeouts. He's given up 2 runs in 21 1/3 innings over his past 4 starts. Explore Jonah Tong News >
