So, is everybody hung over from the Knicks game last night? I have a lot of in-law family in NYC, so I was rooting for the Knicks, but it was still kinda sad to see the Spurs fold over and over again. By the way, is the bullpen chart capturing openers correctly now? I think it's fixed now.

I'd like to see some on-field elder abuse today.

Wait a minute, I'm old., so maybe I shouldn't have typed that!

Ha!

I've been married 58 years. This elder gets abuse every day.

I'd prefer it happens on the field today.

Regardless of any standings, a series win against the Braves would be nice.

We have our best pitcher on the mound. Maybe he can pitch like it.

I like that the Mets have instituted a you-don't-start-if-you-ended-yesterday's-game-by-grounding-into-a-double-play rule.

Keith's declaration that he never had a .400 month is correct, but it just means that he was consistent.

But what a run in 1979:

  • March/April: .232
  • May: .356
  • June:  .373
  • July: .333
  • August: .384
  • September/October: .356

That's a season you don't want to see end.

A lot of pitches were thrown in just the first two innings: 46 for Peralta; 51 for Elder

After the three hits to start the 1st, Peralta has retired 12 straight since and trimmed the pitch count down to a much more reasonable 67 thru 4 innings. Be nice if he can get to be at least Fab Six Freddie today

Dylan Dodd in to pitch for Atlanta. Didn't Paul McCartney mention him in a lyric?

Pending the outcome of today's Dodger game, that GiDP breaks a tie and vaults the Mets up to 29th place at turning GiDPs. They are, however, well above average at hitting into them this year.

When Stearns said he wanted to improve "Run Prevention," I don't think he meant it to be on offense.
