Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2025 Author Posted October 4, 2025 The Blue Jays will be without SS Bo Bichette for this series - he's been out since early September with a knee injury (occurred in a game against the Yanx)Also not on the Toronto roster in this series: RHPs Chris Bassitt (injury) and Max Scherzer (no longer very good) as the Jays try to get more LHPs in vvs NYY
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2025 Posted October 4, 2025 Jays up 2-0 in the third on two solo homers. Later
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2025 Posted October 4, 2025 Old friend Andrés Giménez knocks in a run and knocks out a pitcher 3-1
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2025 Author Posted October 4, 2025 I won't say the Yanx are tossing this game on the trash heap ... but Paul Blackburn is now in absorbing the 8th inning Blue Jay abuse.10-1 Jays and still batting. But as recently as the top of the 6th, this was a very different game. That's when the Yanx loaded the bases w/no outs and Judge, Bellinger, Rice, and Stanton due up.K*, BB, PO-5, K* we just might have to concede, based on his post-season history, that Judge is most certainly not a 'True Yanqui'
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 Jays up 5-0 in the 4th inning of game 2.Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2025 Author Posted October 5, 2025 Game 2 (FS1): Max Fried (201st ML game) for the Yanx vs Trey Yesavage (4th ML game) for the JaysYanx have the (on paper) favorable pitching match-ups going forward in this series ... but someone forgot to tell the Blue Jays that.Jays have tallied five off of Fried thru 3 innings while Yesavage is thru 4 and has K'd 10 of the 13 batters he's faced including the last six straight.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2025 Author Posted October 5, 2025 Fried now out after retiring nine of the 18 batters he faced. Will Warren on in relief.Still 5-0 but bases loaded/none out.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2025 Author Posted October 5, 2025 Vladdy Jr = Grand Slam9-0 w/one out in the 4th
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2025 Author Posted October 5, 2025 This one goes to eleven![FIMG=300]https://bouquetsbrickbatsreviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/this-is-spinal-tap3.-.jpeg?strip=info&w=1800[/FIMG]
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2025 Author Posted October 5, 2025 Hmmmm, now 13-7 and the Jays still have 7 outs to secure. The starter Yesavage was removed (with a no-hitter) with one out in the 6th.[CROSSOUT]Four[/CROSSOUT] .. now five Toronto relievers have recorded just one out each while coughing up 7 runs on 7 hits since. Finally the top 7th is over but the Yanx are perfectly capable of scoring six in the two innings they have left.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 From 12-0 to 13-7. Don't give the Yankees any air, BJays.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2025 Author Posted October 5, 2025 QUIT WALKING GUYS!!!!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2025 Author Posted October 5, 2025 FINALLY!, 13-7 is your final.Yanx down two games to none on a combined score of 23 - 8Too bad this isn't a soccer tourney where the Yanx would not only have to win the next game to stay alive but they'd have to do so by at least 15 runs or the Blue Jays would advance on aggregate.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2025 Author Posted October 7, 2025 Freakin' two-out 1st inning error by Kiner-Falafel not only leads to a Yanqui run but turns what would have been a 7-pitch bottom 1st into an 18-pitch inning.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2025 Author Posted October 7, 2025 Vladdy Jr. flashing his power ... and his speed! And then he even goes airborne on his home plate dive.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 6-1 Jays2 RBI by .185 hitting Anthony Santander (sorry, whippoorwill) Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2025 Author Posted October 7, 2025 In addition to all the other problems the Yanx are having tonight, they've twice challenged calls on piddly-ass stuff and lost both times. So now they're out of challenges in the 3rd inning.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 Get your shit together Bieber.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2025 Author Posted October 7, 2025 1-1/2 hours to get thru 3 innings. I don't think I'll be able to see this one to the end.Bieber: 54 pitches to get thru 2.2 IP (40 would be a decent number)Rodon: 67 to get thru 2.1 (35, so nearly double what you'd like to see)9 runs, 11 hits, 3 BBs, 1 error, multiple challenges and mound conferences, two mid-inning pitching changes.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 And I thought the 2025 Mets were done playing.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 Just looked up the Blue Jays bullpen stats. Ranked 16th in ERA. One spot behind the Mets.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2025 Author Posted October 8, 2025 ToG: 3:29Imagine what it would have been without the pitch clock and limited mound visits?!?Gonna party like it's 2017
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2025 Author Posted October 8, 2025 Hmmmmm ... Jays intentionally was Judge w/bases empty, one out, leading 2-1 in bottom six. iow, putting the tying run on basePart of it was to set up lefty/lefty (and now Bellinger flies out), but I still don't think I like it.And now they go to a righty to face Stanton. So manager Schneider at least had a plan to his madness. But walking Stanton on 5 pitches, which now puts the tying run into scoring position, kind of fucks up that plan, doesn't it?'specially since the new right now has to face the lefty-swinging Jazz Chisholm.Chisholm = GO 4-3Heading to the 7th
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2025 Author Posted October 8, 2025 Wearing gaudy, heavy-looking (though I suspect they're not) tacky chains seems to be a fashion statement among young males in YSIII
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2025 Author Posted October 8, 2025 Cam Schlittler still on the mound for the Yanx as they start the 7thIt's been a pen game for the Jays so they've used, like, 14 pitchers already (OK, only five to get 6 IP/18 outs).
