My quickie calculations have us at a 63% (roughly 5 of 8) chance of securing the #3 WC slot.

First time it's been over 50/50 this week.







If the Mets go 3-0 they win regardless of what the other teams do: so that carries a 12.5% chance of happening

If the Mets go 2-1 they secure the spot unless the Reds go 3-0: 32.8% probability

If the Mets go 1-2 over the weekend they secure a spot only if the Reds go 1-2 or 0-3 AND the DBacks don't sweep: 17%

If the Mets go 0-3 they advance only if the Reds get swept AND the DBacks lose at least twice: 0.8%



12.5 + 32.8 + 17 + 0.8 = 63.1%
