Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 (edited) McLean vs Imanaga. We'll know more by game time as the D-Bags and Reds both should have completed their games by first pitch.OE: this was game 159 in fact Edited September 25, 2025 by Guest
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 Imanaga has pitched to a 4.91 ERA in September. He's gone 5 innings, 3ER in his last two. So he's hittable. Of course, he's left-handed, so I guess you never know. This will be the last time this season the Mets have the pitching advantage.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 If the Mets should make it to the Wild Card round, I guess they go with McLean and Sproat as their starters? And then... Holmes? Their rotation is such a mess they'll have a hard time going deep into October this year. At this point, it's hard to have faith in Peterson or Senga or Manaea or Tong. I guess I'm just hoping that they manage to dip their toes into the postseason and hope things suddenly fall into place.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Author Posted September 25, 2025 To run the table as a WC team you need 14 wins (3 WC, 3 LDS, 4 LCS, 4 WS).Between May 24 and June 12, before they fell off the side of the world, this team went 16-3. Just throwing it out there.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 Thirteen wins. (Only two for the Wild Card round.)The Mets of May and early June could have been an October powerhouse. The current team is just limping along. But yes, things can change in a hurry. Soto or Lindor or Alonso can have a stretch where they carry the team. And that, or something like it, has to be where we hang our hats.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 A series at Wrigley without at least one 2:20 PM start kindafeels unnatural. Both the Reds/D'backs games are on MLBN for those who are gluttons for baseball.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 I'm a glutton The Mets "could" win out and reduce the fans stress level

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 Weird lineup. 6-9 looks light in my eyes
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 Time for Vientos to start his post-season hot streak early. It looks like he put his best defensive team on the field behind McLean.Later
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 How about a defining homer Acuna as a Met.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 Vientos gets an RBlNimmo gets an RBI
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 No RBI for Vientos Nimmo gets picked2-0 good guys
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 [bIGPURPLE] Lindor 30[/bIGPURPLE]
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 I kind of want Vientos to get credit for the (game-winning?) RBI on the popout behind third. I mean, it counts as an earned run on Cubs side, and nobody was ruled to have made an error on the play, so let's give the credit to somebody.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 We survive the third inning.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 Ronnie, it's "Dia de los Muertos.""Dios de la Muerte" is God of the Dead.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 And that's why you play Baty no matter what hand the pitcher throws with.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 The only out this inning is the Vientos bullet/diving catch.let the record show I posted that prior to the Taylor GO
roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 Looks a lot like this Baty kid can hit. On the MLB level. This season. Right now.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 If Mendoza were smart he'd pitch McLean every day.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 Quick, pull McLean now so you can bring him back Sunday if needed. (j/k)
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 McLean is like Steph Curry throwing up a 30 footer, and backing up down court while the ball is still at the top of its arc.He knows when he releases an unhittable strike and instead of coming out of his delivery into a plant, ready to field, he just keeps rotating his his hips toward first until he is almost all the way turned around by the time the ball hits the catcher's mitt. It's gonna get him hit in the ass someday, but it's kinda cool. On the other hand, I think Suzuki just took some of that cool away.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 Score more runs, no lead is safe
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 I'm turning of all these highlight reel catches against the Mets

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 McLean is dealing, but I'm not comfortable with this lead.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 With even a mediocre Cub defense tonight, this is an 11-2 game.
