NYM: 2/10 w/RiSP (and only one scored a run), 13 LOBsters

LAD: 3/10 w/RiSP, 6 LOB

Lecture on how hitting w/RiSP isn't predictive coming up soon.

Stearns says hitting w/RISP is a skill. Works for me

Some odd decisions by Mendoza:

-Garrett was left in to face Conforto when Waddell was up and Dodgers had no righties on the bench.

-Jared Young as choice of pinch runner rather than Ronny Mauricio is a surprise to me (Holding Mauricio back to have a shortstop made sense if Lindor was available to hit…but he must not have been if Acuna was allowed to hit).

Of course it's fucking predictive. Just like team runs scored is.predictive. It's just not a fucking skill. Hitting with RISP isn't a skill independent of regular hitting. It's all just hitting. Batters get hits but whether the hits come with the bases empty or with RISP is just fucking randomness.

I was right!!

That's right. And you were right because you're wrong. Always whining, eight times a game, even in blowout Mets wins, about the runners who were LOB. Day in and day out. As if every inning is supposed to be a Gorilla Gas-House never-ending conga line around the basepaths.

Jesus H. Christ on a popsicle. The Mets have practically baseball's best record. They were baseball's best team over the last 2/3 of last season. They just took the season series from the fucking Dodgers. All this with their best hitter, Juan Soto, a shell of himself up to now. With Francisco Alvarez hitting like Bud Harrelson and Mark Vientos playing like the pre-breakout version of himself. What more do you want? Steve Cohen and David Stearns are building an elite perennial WS contender as we speak.

And you were right because you're wrong -- no I'm not. I drew no conclusions, made no inferences except that those numbers happened TODAY and they had an effect on the game because, of course they did! If you don't like comments in an IGT about the game being played or just played then you're kind of in the wrong place.

Always whining, eight times a game, even in blowout Mets wins, about the runners who were LOB -- BULLSHIT. RiSP and LOB numbers matter but only in context. If you score a lot it means you got many runners on which in turn increases the chance to leave more on. But leaving a dozen runners on base is a game where you score ten is completely different from leaving a dozen on when you score one or two. THAT'S when I bring it up, when it mattered in the game.

They had plenty of chances to score in a close game. I can't

see how waging a finger at an error is pissed-off worthy.
