Nimmo by a half-a-foot nets a run.

Now how do you set the runners if Pete was trying to score from second on the play? He wasn't, but he could have been.

You could tell Zimmo won the footrace by the way Kershaw spun to try and get the real 3rd out

Good point. In a bang-bang play, the principal actors know who won.

As a fielder, Max Muncy is a real good hitter.

I also want to save a thought in that area for Freddy Freeman. He is a smart fielder with good hands, but he moves around like a late-stage Bill Buckner and he has for a while now. He looks like he arrived at the park after working a full shift herding cows on horseback.

If Megill can get through this inning unscathed it'll be more than decent outing considering the start.

9 - 1- 2 due up and he's already taken care of #9

Magillicutty is seemingly getting stronger.

Of course, the first-inning rally all happened after striking out Ohtani.

There it is. He is pitcher of record on the long side, and may even have enough left to come out for the sixth.

Is everyone on the Dodgers hitting over .400 w/RiSP for the season?

Everyone but Ohtani, I think.

But that just makes that inning by Garrett all the more remarkable.

In fairness to Freddie, he's been playing with leg issues most of the season and even going back to last year.

But I guess you could say the same thing with Buckner back in the day. FFF does turn 36 in September

I figgered.

Apart from Buckner, the other guy he reminds me of is late-stage Kirk Gibson.

With the Dodgers going to the lefty, do you stick with Baty as the pinch-hitter, or go to Torrens?
