Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 At least we got them for opening day. There are two weekends coming up (vs LAD in May, at PHI in June) in which the Friday game is Apple, Saturday Fox, and Sunday ESPN.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 They probably enjoy the weekend off
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 Keith is not somebody who gives the impression of needing to be at work.Pretty cool how evenly the series has been played. It has just been a difference of who gets the big hit on which day.Only the second time the Mets have opened the season with an interleague matchup.

roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 And now I'm wondering how an AI could be programmed to announce a baseball game. Certainly it could be done after the fact, from a team of real life announcers' broadcasts, off which they could build a database of observations, cliches, wisecracks, insights that would eventually allow the AI to create an original broadcast independently.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 I'd like to see Senger get a start in one of those Marlins games. Live the dream, Hayden.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 I read that Spencer Arrighetti has developed a two seamer against righties as his four seamer was torched last season
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 Altuve looks stupid playing leftfield. Soto doubles

Year after that there'll be 40They've only announced the Apple schedule through the end of June but yes, there are 3 Mets games including yesterday. The Dodgers also have 3. Not surprisingly you won't see the White Sox or Colorado or Sacramento on that schedule.I'm aware there's a 5 appearance limit in the Sunday night slot but haven't heard that about Apple. As for the future, of course you were exaggerating but if Apple took the ESPN games, that wouldn't be bad.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 Canning is so little the letters on the jersey are bigger than him.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 So three Apple+ games in the first half and, assuming they aren't stuck in the mud come July, maybe three to five more in the second half?Do you suppose the cable companies are going to give us 4-5% discounts on account of the games taken off their slate? Yeah, probably not.In the meantime, not a lot of hittin' going on thru 2-1/2 games.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 (edited) Remember those old anti-drug commercials?: SPEED KILLS!Many MLB'ers don't go from 1st to 2nd in that situation. More still don't go 2nd to 3rd on a FO to LCF. And fewer still even think about 3rd to home on a come-backer. Edited March 29, 2025 by Guest
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 That SIri score was play-of-the-year through 2 2/3 games.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 They still only have one effing hit.Later
roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 Definitely the upside of Siri. And I'm sure he'll blast a few HRs, and catch some un-catchable balls. But he has a ton of real downside that we'll see plenty of, too.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 Marte K on three lookers down the pipe.Swing the bat big guy!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 2-3-4 due up in the 9thGotta hold 'em here.
roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 And there we see the downside to Siri's game.Fox announcers noted how far back the Astros 3B man was playing him, a perfect time to lay down a bunt, but Siri don't bunt.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2025 Posted March 29, 2025 Lindor needs to fast-forward to June 1.
