I'm sure Max is a nice guy, well mannered and kind to his parents.

But, as the "long man", I hope we don't have to see him in this series.

I'm ok with with a 20 run lead and thus him pitching.

Mid-series changes to the roster aren't allowed unless there's an injury. (And I think years ago, you couldn't even make a replacement for an injured player. I think the Mets got stung on that in the 2006 NLCS, if I remember right.)

If you make a mid-series replacement for injury, the replaced player can't come back in the next series either.

I don't remember the rule from 2006. The Mets did not replace Floyd during the LCS of course. Was there talking of doing so? I guess they could've added Rickey Ledee or Lastings Milledge in his place.

I lustfully await the Mets awakening of the insatiable, two-headed Kranick/Stanek beast in their bullpen.

Momma Megill

That sneaky Momma Megill comes out on top no matter who wins this series.

I think it may have involved Orlando Hernandez? I think he came up injured after the rosters were set.

I just read that you can make an injury replacement, but it has to be requested from the commissioner's office. The replacement has to be apples for apples (Pitcher replaces pitcher, position player for position player).

We should have added a shaman to the roster to raise Martinez and [CROSSOUT]Wanker [/CROSSOUT]Winker from the dead.

Winker in today's lineup

Mike Puma and Will Sammon both reporting that Senga is under consideration for the Division Series roster.

Megill will certainly be on (Kranick to join the Jim McAndrew club…with Megill potentially leaving it) but adding Senga would pose the question of who gets removed (Danny Young? Brazoban?)

Through two rounds, neither Ottavino nor Danny Young has pitched. (Young has never even warmed up, I believe).

Danny Abriano of SNY is reporting that Jeff McNeil is expected to be included on the NLCS roster:

In order to fit McNeil on the NLCS roster, it's fair to believe the Mets will either drop Acuña or go from 13 pitchers to 12.

I wonder if it's less likely the Mets go to 12 pitchers in a seven-game series?

He's in the game when the team is up 6-0 and you already used the other guy you wanted to use when the team is up 6-0.

I think they should keep Acuna. They tend to run out of bench players at the end of the game as they do their defensive replacements. Iglesias can be the replacement for Vientos if McNeil is in the starting lineup, and then Acuna can be used to run for Martinez or Alverez if necessary.

I like the extra flexibility that carrying both McNeil and Acuna brings:

-If Acuna or Bader is brought in for defense and their spot comes up again late or in extra innings, can hit for either with McNeil

-Could put Vientos at DH (McNeil at second)

-Could even put Lindor at DH if his back was acting up (Iglesias at short, McNeil at second)

-Can hit for Taylor or Marte if a lefty matchup desired late.

I doubt Jeff starts over Iglesias but there's a lot of possibilities with him on the roster.

Jeff would probably get one or two starts in a seven-game series if he shows himself to be ready. Maybe one at second and one in the outfield, if the. pitching matchup is to their liking.
