Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 If the Mets make the playoffs, and if they need get to a point where they need a fourth starter — and I'm not saying that's going to happen, but it's a possibility worth looking at — they pretty much have Manaea/Severino/Peterson lined up at the top of their rotation.Who do you think is looking like #4?No caveats. No hedging. Money must go down based on what is known today.[FIMG=257]https://nypost.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2024/04/Tylor-Megill.jpg?w=1024[/FIMG][FIMG=284]https://www.amny.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/AP23214028054149-scaled.jpg?w=1200[/FIMG][FIMG=284]https://cloudfront-us-east-1.images.arcpublishing.com/advancelocal/3LMEY774FVETBBYF3AZVKQXWP4.jpg[/FIMG]

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Senga opener followed by Quintana. So technically, it's a vote for Senga.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 If Senga has a regular season start and is healthy, him. (I voted for him)Otherwise, Stay with three starters.Later
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Wilmer Flores?Bruce Boisclair?
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 If I was the manager, I would without question go with Quintana as long as he is healthy. I wish I could go with Senga, but he has said that he will not be strong enough to go 5-6 innings at a time. If he can only go 35-30 pitches at a time, then he will be better suited for an inning or two of high leverage relief every few days.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 22, 2024 Author Posted September 22, 2024 With the Braves announcing their pitchers for the Mets series, the Mets are holding back, but will probably let us know by tomorrow, but ... the question may no longer be whether Quintana is number four ahead of Megill, but whether he's #3 ahead of Peterson.Peterson has unquestionably had the better season, but Quintana is just as unquestionably the hotter hand.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Tuesday: SeverinoWednesday: PetersonThursday: Manaea
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 Gotta be Quintana. Megill is your long man if any of the the others falter.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 23, 2024 Author Posted September 23, 2024 What they were planning all along then, good. The Braves have switched things up to get Matt Fried in there. Let them do the panicking and second-guesssing.
