Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Inspired by the other thread, considering the modest expectations coming into 2024, how far to the Mets have to go in order to consider 2024 a successful year?
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Same standard I've used since 1995: a successful season is a trip to the division series.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 I usually am content with whatever they achieve. (I can say that because I picked them to miss the playoff in the pre-season prediction thread.)But since they look like they will make the playoffs, why not go all the way? And, I think the MFYs will be in the WS for the AL.So what could be better than winning it all by beating THEM?There are only so many miracles, why not a biggie?WS champs or bust!Later
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 It's a winning season in a year they weren't expecting to win. It's been more than a success.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Hey, getting it in there in the first place is a measure of success! (Ask any 13-year-old boy.)
