Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 We've been making far too many meh-ish pitchers, replacement pitchers, and middle relievers look very good for about a week now.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Lead-off hit - ground out - ground out - ground outI've seen this movie before. And I don't like how it ends.

Which means I've watched four straight games of frustration.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 =Fman99 post_id=165548 time=1723080572 user_id=86]I am in Denver but opted to watch this one from my hotel. I am just too tired from work to endure two 45+ minute Uber rides and a ballpark crowd. Plus the forecast looked a bit touch and go. Having said that, my hotel inexplicably does not carry the channel on which this game is being aired locally. I have to watch on my tablet despite this suite having two big televisions. So that's stupid. They are carrying FS1 which has the SD/PIT Game. In Denver. What the actual hell is that all about
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 New strategy — stop hitting anything within reach of an infielder.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Leadoff single: ground out - ground out - KOK these were harder than most ... but sooner or later you need to get the ball out of the infield more than two or three times a game.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 The Rox have advanced more leadoff base runners with no ABs completed than we did in our last six ABs
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Interesting strategy to give the Rockies the extra inning runner to start each inning.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 It's not like the Mets aren't getting the leadoff runner on and stranding him also. But let's get Butto some support here.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Give us your tired, your weak, your relievers with 6+ ERAs, we will give them solace and redemption.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Mets have had 10 groundouts to three flyouts.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Rox catcher is giving targets two feet out of the strike zone ... and I don't blame him.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 James Jean having as rough a night as the Mets bats. We'll take it I guess.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Iglesias, Álvarez, Gamel, Taylor due up in the ninth.Bader, Martinez, Vientos, and Torrens all available off the benchsicle.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 The last NYM batter to get the ball out of the infield prior to Alvarez ... was Alvarez.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 We really need to steal this one.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 So many options right now. Taylor batting for himself. J.D. is tempting but they don't want a double-play.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 I was hoping for one there.I didn't dare dream we'd get two.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Wasn't there a long period there when the Mets were hesitatant to let Luis Torrens catch Diaz?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Apparently, nobody plays the ball off the wall in right field here.
