With the Mets stacking the lineup with righthanded bats that have been knocking Montgomery all over the park, I would have figured that the Diamondbacks would have lifted him two innings ago for a righty.



Then I remembered they lost their starter in the first yesterday and burned most of their pen. And with their AAA team all the way back in Reno, getting reinforcements into New York isn't easy.



One of the most overlooked strategies in baseball — chasing the starter early in Game One of a series.



Or, in the Mets case, being fortunate enough to see him chased by the fates.
