Straw's habits earlier in his life, drinking mostly, probably didn't do him a lot of good. But the dude's

had a bunch of health problems over the years seemingly unrelated to anything self-caused.

Just what the subject says. Apparently Straw had a heart attack yesterday. I saw the Mets posted a get well soon message on IG.

Straw says he's recovering and "all is well". Darryl turns 62 today. Happy birthday, #18.

Edit: I see G-Fafif posted this already. Feel free to nuke it, dear admins.

Serious business. I'll be happy if he's healthy enough to watch on TV.

Odd that his hospital gown has piping down the sleeve.

He has two adult children from his first marriage to the former Lisa Andrews, and three from his second marriage to the former Charisse Ann Simon.

Third wife Tracy (blonde on the right side of the photo) came to the marriage with three kids of her own from two marriages also marred by addiction.

I think the young woman on his left could be daughter Jade but it's hard to say.

Darryl is now eligible to start collecting Social Security, but he'd be better off waiting until he's 70. (Every day I get several articles in my Google News feed from Motley Fool telling me that it's better to collect at 70 than at 62.)

The longer you wait to collect, the greater your monthly benefit. You should only collect at 62 if you absolutely need the money, or if you have strong reason to suspect that you won't live to be 80.

My mother in law did this, short sighted as usual, and now gets by on a pittance of a monthly check, with no real savings to speak of.

I started at 62 but I never really worked much.

Also if you wait til 70 you can earn as much as you want on the side with no penalty

Honestly it's all a very personal choice with lots to consider.
