MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 He left to be a starter. I doubt he'd come back to be in the bullpen.Later
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 That's what I meant. Invite him back as a starter. The Mets have several openings.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 (edited) I appreciate his honesty. Ottavino was a favorite player and it'd be a shame to lose him. Edited November 6, 2023 by Guest
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 That every baserunner turned into a double was a drawback for a late inning reliever.I do like his point about the lack of continuity. It's hard to believe the Mets whacked Buck so as to wind up with Mendoza
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Tim Anderson — whose season was so disastrous that it really made me appreciate Jeff McNeil's 2023 — has had his option unsurprisingly declined by the White Sox.He's had some really good times, but it's going to be a hard time finding a major-league deal after his season's highlight was landing on the wrong side of a brawl with José Ramirez in which most of the league took Ramirez' side, despite the video evidence being ambiguous.

Couldn't pass harder on a guy.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 Yeah, that's a pretty bad slash line for '23He never walked much so a .245 BA and the .286 OBA to go with it are bad enough. But then his power disappeared too: 100 of his 121 hits this past year were singles. 50 or so 'Isolated Slugging' points is Bud Harrelson/late-1960s territory.
