The deferred money certainly gives the Dodgers ample wiggle room for Yamamoto , fucks sake the two probably planned it like this

Nothing in Sherman's article about what was served, which is all I can think about.

He has to be a Burger King guy though right? Ronald McDonald isn't his cup of tea - he orders a whopper and wears that paper crown!

There was one of those 'championship sports team goes to the White House' event during the tRump administration (I think

it was a college football team) where the food offering was fast food burgers and cokes. I think it was from McDonalds but it

really doesn't matter.

Ivanka probably put that burger down right after the photo, washed her hands with a warm towel and ordered the foie gras.

I'm sure that Uncle Steve knew exactly what was Yamamoto's favorite dish and had it as the main course.

I wondered if Steve would try to get Lindor or Pete or Kodai or Mr. Met over to dinner or on facetime or something.

My worry is probably the same as every other fan of every team who's in on this guy. All of the competitors are great markets to play and live in, and all the owners are seemingly ready to splash big cash, but the longer this thing drags out and the price inches upward (I guess it's already a slam dunk that it will hit $300M), the Mets are the most likely to still be there, right? I don't see LA dropping out any time soon, but with Shohei and Glasnow, that's already like $70M and this guy would push their tax hit to over $100M on just 3 guys. I know they can, but I don't know if they will?

I'm sure the Giants and Blue Jays and Phillies and even the Yankees have a line they won't cross for this guy. I bet Steve does, too, but what could it be? It's not like Roki Sasaki will be any cheaper when he's posted, and you figure every team who loses on Yamamoto will be immediately eyeing Sasaki next.

Many words to say very little.

Signed,

Anxious in Albuquerque

I found it interesting Yamamoto went to meet with the Mets for a dinner at Steve Cohen's house and then they scrambled to put together a meeting with the Yankees while he was there. It seemed like meeting with the Mets was a priority.

The cynic in me tells me that he wanted to give the MFYs an opportunity to beat the offer he had just heard from the Mets.

My guess is that if there's no news by Wednesday afternoon this is going

to linger into early January. And you all know I'm never wrong sometimes.

I'll have to ask the manager of the store that advertised "Matzos for Chanukkah".

I'm predicting it will be announced Thursday for the Friday papers, because Friday news hits the Saturday newspapers, which traditionally have lower readership. (I realize there are other news media, but those reporters who cover the teams deserve a break.)
