MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 In case anyone else besides me is interested, the NL leads AL 332-303 in Interleague Play this year, with only an 18 run deferential. (2890 runs to 2872)Let's show a team leading an AL division by 16 games how tough the NL really is. LGM!Later
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2023 Author Posted September 8, 2023 8 games out of a wild card spot with 23 to play.

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2023 Author Posted September 8, 2023 Yeah, I thought 16 sounded a little lofty but didn't fact check.

TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Here at Target Field. A very lovely park. An usher is giving out Mets/Twins baseball cards. I got Teufel. There are many sheriff officers roaming the grounds with assault rifles. I thought for a second that was just how Minny police roll. A better guess is that Chris Christie is in the park tonight.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 I like to think that many of us invented interleague play over 50 years ago with our Strat O Matic sets

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 48 pitches thru 2 IP for SengaNot getting very deep at that pace.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 I like the Twins' new uniforms.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 It looks like they have Orioles batting helmets. When did the Twins add orange to their palette? I guess their blood red just comes out differently when rendered in helmet plastic.

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2023 Author Posted September 8, 2023 Well, that was an ugly way to go down 3-2.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Q: How many bad throws can they make on one play?A: All of them
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Two runs in with one ball leaving the IF all inning.Well, two counting the attempted throw to 3rd base.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Once again the bullpen will be widely blamed for the loss.Once again the lineup has amassed four hits.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 I think this guy needs more production value on his entrance.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Twins burn their mound visit and the tying run on deck.Take a strike, Francisco.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 This Twinks closer is some Armando Benitez level good stuff but no clue where it's headed stuff
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 It's a gift when you hit a tailor-made double-play grounder and all three fielders screw it up.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2023 Posted September 9, 2023 Target Field is a really nice park. They do a great job of honoring ex-players and not just the ones in the HOF or with retired numbers. I love that the stadium is located right downtown. The food was decent and it was easy to get around the place. My expectations for the game were low and the Mets didn't disappoint. It was great to see the youngsters play, but some of them look absolutely lost at the plate. It seemed like Senga bounced the majority of his forkballs. The walks killed us and throwing the ball around the field defensively looks like the Bad News Bears. That said, the Locastro diving catch was amazing.
