Who else? Peterson? Lucchesi? Butto? I have no idea.

Does Tylor Megill even exist anymore? Did he ever? I'm very confused.

Time to watch football!

Don't mention football in the baseball forum. It's not a rule, but it ought to be.

Senga-Quintana-Carrasco-Peterson-Megill until further notice. They are also penciled in as our opening rotation for 2024.

Joey Lucchesi is injured, but in reserve are Jose Butto, Denyi Reyes, Mike Vasil, David Griffin, David Geffen, Joey Buttafuoco, Justin Jarvis, Jane Jarvis, Christian Scott, Montgomery Scott, Randolph Scott, Great Scott, Willie Randoph, Christian Laettner, Daison Acosta, Junior Santos, Senior Santos, and Señor Wences.

Butto's 24 years old, he has a 3.00 ERA in his brief time with New York this year, he's been ranked among the club's top-30 prospects since 2020 at least. I'd say time to give him a try.

It would be great if one or two of the fringe guys mentioned stepped up in a big way and was lights out

Is it possible for Señor Wences to throw a pitch without getting saliva on it? This could be problematic.

It's a credit to you how you're always thinking ahead about these things.

At last check, Megill had an ERA in Syracuse north of 10.00

Worth checking again. It's down to an enticing 8.67.

In that case bring him up immediately.

The International League's collective ERA is 5.27. The following are the Syracuse Mets' starters (defined as having 2+ starts with Syracuse) who are currently pitching better than league average: Joey Lucchesi, who is hurt, and that's it. So whoever they promote from there is probably going to underwhelm. However, if they're so daring to dip into what they have in Binghamton, then Mike Vasil (51.0 IP, 1-2 W-L, 3.88 ERA), Christian Scott (46.1, 3-3, 2.72), Tyler Stuart (18.0, 1-0, 3.00) and Alex Valverde (20.1, 1-0, 2.21) are have ERAs better than (Eastern) league average.

Stuart has dominated High-A, Scott's been slightly less dominant but still great across the board, Valverde has struggled at Triple-A and Vasil's not quite been lights out anywhere, but of those guys I'd probably try him first as he has the most Triple-A experience. I'm intrigued by Scott and would like to see him in the majors just to see what he can do. Stuart I think they'd be rushing. Valverde's not been great ever.

Butto (mentioned above) is pitching to a 6.62 ERA in 15 starts at Syracuse. I'd try one of the other options ,maybe Scott, before him, even though he'd be jumping a level.

It looks like my adoptee, Vasil, needs some more work at AAA. His ERA is 6.59 in seven starts.
