Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 A 10:15 PM start and if the Mets official web site can be believed, Joey Lucchesi will make his 2023 starting debut tonight. A 6-1 start to this West coast swing is pretty damn great.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 The Giants are a predominantly lefty hitting team which bodes well for JoeyThen there's that Wilmer guy
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 They also have another right handed hitter by the name of J.D. Davis. Oh, and don't forget Darin Ruf. Rumor has it that Ruf kills left handers, though I can't recall seeing evidence of that.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Magic flip from Guillorme gets Lucchesi back to the dugout in the first.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Guillorme & Lindor are fun to watch.Even the DP they failed to turn was poetry in motion just to make it that close.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Checking in after watching the Knicks kick some Cav-ass.Let's Go Mets!!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 I don't want to force myself to see patterns where there are none, but Lucchesi seems to be getting better every inning.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 It wasn't by much, but McNeil was out of the baseline. That call ends up costing the Giants three runs.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Alonso to dead center! Mets making Giants pay for poor defensive play letting McNeil reach base
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Lucchesi deserves better praise but I'll do it tomorrow...

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Time to revive the "Joey Fuego" nickname.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Looks like our best-pitched start of the year.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Vote for who you want, but Joey Fuego drove the Winnebago.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Luchessi!!Waking up to thisHoly cow!
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 The problem with Mets Fast Forward is they include the score in the scroll at the bottom of the screen. I couldn't help but see the Mets scored 7 when they'd only had 4.Next time will affix duct tape over the bottom of my TV screen
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Baty is making more consistent contact than Álvarez, but the winning road trip has allowed them both to loosen up and play heads-up ball without pressuring themselves to break through on one swing, which was Álvarez last week. Also, Marte has been out a couple of days now, and nobody's talking about it, because it so far isn't hurting them. It's allowed McNeil to float out to right, and Guillorme to get consistent playing time at second, almost always against righties, and get his bat going.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Gary loves saying 'churve'.Lucchesi was stunningly on point. Let's hope it wasn't a flash in the pan because he'll need to take at least one more turn in the rotation.

kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Casually watching MFF for a hoot. Love this ballpark. Only been once, inthe good ol' Pac Bell days. Wilmer looks so grown up. Where does the time go?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Not sure I've seen Alvarez take a 'good AB' yet.
