ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 They can win each and every day from here onLikely Alvarez and Vientos get starts tonightThis is a different team without Marte
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 I agree about Marte, but all three starters were given leads.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Gonna be a wet couple of days depending on which forecast pans out. Eitherway, it's gonna be chilly and damp...Cory Abbott(#77, 26, RHP, 0-4, 5.11)Carlos Carrasco(#59, 35, RHP, 15-7, 3.95)#lgm #ygb #ymdyf
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 basically meaningless games now, so just can 'em if it rains.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 I assume it will be Walker on Tuesday and deGrom on Wednesday if the Mets and Braves are tied for first that morning. Otherwise, the Mets probably should start someone who won't be on the postseason roster. Don't know if they can get someone like Butto or Lucchesi on the roster for that last game.

TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Have there been any Marte updates? His absence is glaring.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Have there been any Marte updates? His absence is glaring.Starling Marte (finger) remains without a timetable to return. The Mets' lineup simply hasn't been the same without Marte and his potential return remains a complete mystery. Some of the swelling in the veteran outfielder's fractured right middle finger has subsided, but not enough for him to grip a bat or a ball yet. It's possible that he'll be ready later this week when the Mets open the postseason, but he's running out of time to ramp up activity. There should be some clarity on his status once the regular season wraps up this week.SOURCE: MLB.comOct 3, 2022, 11:12 AM ET
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 The amazin' thing is that he was initially kept on the roster for a few days, as if it was a day-to-day thingie, with speculation that he was available to do some tasks before he returned to the starting lineup. The idea that he still can't grip a ball is ... a somber thought.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Lineup for a rainy night that seems unlikely to include Mets baseball.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 At least one ticket-holding fan, upon looking out the window and at the Weather Channel app on his phone, has opted to call it a rainout, regardless of official hesitation.

whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Have you ever broken a finger? It hurts and then one day it stops. Give him time; he'll be back as soon as he can

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 It's supposed to rain Tuesday as well.If the Braves win the division tonight or Tuesday, the Mets games would be meaningful only for home field advantage seeding in a potential WS matchup against the Yankees. Mets currently up half a game there and will have the tiebreaker with any 1 win against the Nationals.Presumably a non-meaningful game could just be cancelled if weather continues to be a problem. Also, the Braves might lose, making the point moot.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2022 Author Posted October 3, 2022 Braves down 4-0 in the 6th
