With the threat of Hurricane-related weather complications, there is a non-zero chance of needing to play the games against the Braves somewhere else.

Neutral sites available this weekend include domed stadiums in Miami and Tampa (though Tampa could also be hit by the hurricane) as well as Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. Miami may be preferred since Atlanta is headed there anyway to finish the season.

Precedent for moving games due to Hurricane:

2004: Marlins vs Expos, at Comiskey Park in Chicago

2008: Houston vs Cubs, at Miller Park in Milwaukee

2017: Houston vs Texas, at Tropicana Field in Tampa

2017: Tampa vs Yankees, at Citi Field

Additionally, there is also precedent to just move these games to Citi Field (the Braves can play as the “home team”):

2010: because of the G20 Summit, three Phillies at Blue Jays games were moved to Philadelphia.

2011: because of scheduling conflicts regarding time required to construct the stage for a U2 concert, 3 Mariners at Marlins games were moved to Seattle.

NWS forecast not looking too bad, so far:

Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67.

Friday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 58.

Saturday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70.

Saturday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59.

Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 75.

Maybe Friday gets postponed with a doubleheader on Sunday. Unless the forecast starts looking a lot worse, I doubt that they'll move the series to another city.

The whole system could trend west and head for the TX/LA/MS coast, too, it's still pretty early to guess what ultimate path this thing will take.

How do they do this? Do they honor trade-ins on tickets already sold in Atlanta first or do they start fresh?

Do the tickets get exclusively sold digitally through Atlanta's sales department or can I show up at Camden's ticket window?

As the Braves are the home team, does Georgia have legal jurisdiction? Will Atlanta fans doing The Chop be subject to Maryland racial harassment laws and ordinances? Would The Oriole Bird have to surrender his office to the Braves' Johnny-come-lately mascot Blooper? Would the Georgia flag be flown? Will Atlanta's retired numbers be displayed?

If the Braves clinch, do Atlanta fans, as the home team supporters, get to run amok in downtown Baltimore?

Fenway Park is available that weekend and considering the Braves' Boston heritage and the maximum safe distance Eastern Time Zone location from the hurricane, it's the only logical choice.

From this, perhaps a rainout on Friday, they play on Saturday, and a D/N DH on Sunday? Sunday's game is mandated for 7:10 due to ESPN.

it says 70% of rain Friday, steady rain, potential for heavy rainfall. 90% friday night. 90% Saturday. 70% Saturday night. 60% chance of rain Sunday day, 'showers early becoming numerous later'. Does drop to 30% by Sunday night.

The storm could move some, but it's almost unavoidable that there's going to be at least tropical storm strength winds and likely a lot of rain. They do need to think about how they're going to fit these games in

One would expect the Braves would think carefully about what serves them best.

Obviously there is a financial component with big crowds expected for all 3 games. But if there were to be 2 days of washouts, a doubleheader on Sunday would still leave a meaningful game to be made up.

Making up that game on Thursday, October 6 would be very unappealing to the losing team (which would have to play the wild card series starting the next day). There is also the possibility it won't matter, but that's not going to be known in advance.

Interestingly, the Mets and Braves both have an off day Thursday. They conceivably consider moving Friday's game forward one day if Friday weather looked like a washout.

Biggest problem with this storm is that it's moving at a snail's pace which means both higher rain totals wherever it passes and multiple days of lousy weather instead of just one.

I imagine the Nats don't have a sold-out crowd hungry for action. They could move that series to Fukuoka and there wouldn't be a whole lot of fan complaint.

Fukuoka them and their fans.

Well, that's not my position, but I'm simply suggesting that the the Braves have far more pressure to deliver on what they've sold.

The Nationals games referenced above (vs Mets) are at Citi Field. I don't see a situation in which those are affected (unless there's bad weather in NY).

According to this article, they're not considering a change in venue: https://www.mlb.com/braves/news/mlb-discussing-contingency-plans-for-mets-braves-series-in-atlantaMLB discussing contingency plans for Mets-Braves series

Options include shifting Friday's game to a matinee and/or scheduling a split doubleheader on Sunday. Though not a desirable option, the teams could also make up one or more games on Thursday, Oct. 6, the day after the regular season is set to conclude, if those games are necessary to decide the NL East title.

Moving Friday up and pushing two games to Sunday seemed to me like it was going to be the plan they go for. I'm not thinking it's going to work and this may be a one-game series. Things don't just return to normal after a hurricane.

They may end up stuck in town.

Split doubleheaders suck. Fuck these teams and MLB for squeezing every last nickel out of fans during a hurricane.
