Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Looks like they've opted for Peterson to open the series and face righty Josiah Grey

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 After a hard-fought series against a tough team, it seemed like a good night to get some fresh legs in the lineup, to avoid a letdown.Just a too-late-to-matter thought.A still timely thought, though, is that maybe McNeil hitting fifth works better.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Yeah, but the problem is that Gore and Marrero aren't really lineup-caliber for a 1st place team. Nevertheless, I agree with you. If Marrero started maybe McNeil could stay off whatever was injured yesterday. The others are McCann (his reward for hitting the ball hard 3X is a night off), Ruf (1B and then Pete has to DH so you can't DH Vogelbach), and Naquin

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Escoboom notches two, putting the ball in the second tank.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Oooh, big Nido boner costs a run.Escobar could have handled that better too.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Peterson really sacked his way through that inning.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Peterson would be fortunate to get to the sixth inning
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Dodgers behind us and the forum is taking the night off.Terrific recovery by Ildemaro Vargas after losing the grounder from Alonso.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 C.J. Abrams is 21 and looks 15, tops.

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 McNeill finds the perfect corner to drop a double.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Listen, I love Harry Belafonte, but playing "Day-O" at a ballgame is Yankees crap.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 "Yay!"And then "Ooof!"
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Totally good with McNeil giving himself up there on the bases to get the run in.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 I'm here and I'm smearing my Mets themed essence all over this IGT
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 (edited) Booth giving McNeil props for holding back to draw the throw and making sure Vogelbach crossed the plate before getting tagged. Not sure why the Nats didn't just throw home, as they probably had a play there. Edited September 2, 2022 by Guest

You too, fman. I think.Trading two outs for a run is fine and good, but I'm starting to think that the Mets should pinch-run for Vogie whenever he gets on.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Yeah, the whole "We're successful now, let's actum like Yankee fans" methodology needs to resisted. Let's do our own thing.Peterson, meanwhile, has been intercepting my Calls.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Now that's a Call out!
