When I saw Diaz coming in for the 8th it felt like a panic driven move from the lack of faith in our bullpen - unlike against Atlanta where it felt worth it. That he did NOT return for the 9th restored my faith in Buck - he was using Diaz to get the heart of the order, to hell with what inning it was
