G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Nido on COVID IL, Guillorme on regular IL. Their spots are taken by C Michael Perez and INF Deven Marrero (righty batter and thrower).
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Author Posted August 15, 2022 Tough matchup for sureWe shall overcome
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 No Mets pitcher has exceeded 13 wins since Jacob deGrom won 15 in 2017.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Wins as an individual statistic suck. only counting METS WINS!
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Dumb challenge by ATL. I love that the Mets almost never make those.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Even with the Mets doing little offensively thru those first two innings, it still took Strider right about three innings worth of pitches to get there.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Carrasco getting shelled here.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Author Posted August 15, 2022 Gary and Keith spending too much time singing Mets praises
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Coulod be worse. Could be raining.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 I think maybe I'm rooting for a rainout now
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Author Posted August 15, 2022 Carrasco and Strider should be done. That might help
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Williams went 2 yesterday so likely Medina will be the long guy, should things resume
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 This night isn't ending anytime soon.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Anyone hear a possible time to resume play? There really wasn't a big rain event scheduled for this evening.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 They were about to show a resume time on the crawl but cut to commercial. I think they're about to tell us, on the next break.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Ugh. Why would they trot Cookie out there after an hour's rain delay? He went into the tunnel grasping his side. CMON BUCK
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Questionable to send him back out there, but here we are.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Any idea when Tylor is coming back?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 That was a weird play on Grissom at third. I figure it's the shortstop or pitcher I'd want covering there over the catcher. I assume the shortstop was mostly out of range due to the shift and was probably moving to cover second.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 And the non-out sets up the next run.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 As Run #5 scores, Keith declares "The Purloined Letter" to be one of his favorite short stories.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 McNutty wheels out a triple and then scores.Chip away. Or something.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 The catcher covering 3rd on that play is common. It was on a similar play a bunch of years ago on Opening Day when a head first sliding Jeter had his shoulder meet a catcher shin guard which earned him the Opening month of the season off.Lindor was headed towards 2nd though he probably shouldn't have been.Actually wasn't a real smart play with two outs and he's scoring from 2nd or 3rd on the subsequent hit so it didn't really matter.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Escobar is getting beaucoup chances at third. It tend to watch him play like he's on borrowed time and each play looks like the one that might break him.Keith seems to agree.
