The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 Escobar has been erratic as a hitter, but his defense at third has been solid all year long.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 Whew, Givens somehow gets out of it without further damage.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 That was some nice glove work there by Escobar to play that in between hop.
roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 I was gonna say "Givens with a chance to lower his Met ERA," but maybe not.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 And I was okay with the Givens pickup at the time, because hey, better than nothing, maybe? But maybe not. If the season ends today, he's not on the postseason roster.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 Lead off double by Escobar set the stage for the Mets in the 8th.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 Naquin with a big pinch hit single to drive in Escobar. Feeling better now.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 The Tyler Naquin Experiment, however? ALL IN, BABY.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2022 Author Posted August 6, 2022 And just like that they claw back the Givens run.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2022 Author Posted August 6, 2022 The Naquin Experiment was one of Robert Ludlum's lesser known efforts.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 This has been a heck of a day for Alonso, long as it has been.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 When was the last time the Mets ran a suicide squeeze!!
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 Stephens fails to pay attention to Naquin so he steals second without a throw. Guillorme moves him to third and NIdo drives him in with a squeeze bunt.

The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 May is bringing the heat (69-97 with his fastball) thus far. One out to go.
