A lot closer than it needed to be, but these days bringing Diaz in means it's over. That's a nice feeling.

Vogelburger brings a nice goofy energy to this team. He looks like Johnny Bravo.

Thoughts on the Game!!!

- For as shaky as he looked last night in virtually every inning, Carrasco wound up tossing 5 scoreless ... and that's not nothing.

- Huge two-out bail-out plays by Nimmo and McNeil saved at least three runs and potentially a lot more. Remember them in your Schaefer voting

- SDP innings ended on: the sliding 4-3 play by McNeil with the bases loaded (1st), a CS (the Lindor push his leg off the base play in the 2nd),

a GiDP (3rd), Nimmo's catch at the wall with a runner on 2nd (6th), another good 4-3 play by McNeil (8th) with 1st-&-3rd, a the Diaz K to end

the game with the tying run on deck. There but for fortune ...

- Did Lindor push the runner's foot off? ... quite possibly yes. But in order to overturn that on replay they'd have to determine that it was not only

his intent to do so but that he did it with more force than whatever 'normal' is. So I guess SD took a chance that that's exactly what the umps in

the office would conclude (as his foot WAS clearly off) but that's a low pct play and I'd have thrown a fit if it were overturned.

Aside from the rotten bullpen work by Peterson and Joely, last night, this was an enjoyable game to watch. It helped that ATL lost yesterday, too. Good way to go into the off day.
