Here's hoping whatever the Marlins couldn't do behind their bullpen in the tenth Saturday plagues their ace on Sunday. Or the Mets could just hit well and Taijuan Walker could pitch well.

First pitch 1:40 on 11 Alive, as we used to say, though when it was 11 Alive, WTF would the Mets be doing there?

Per Metsblog:

James McCann is heading to the 10-day IL with an oblique injury, while the Mets still await the results for Starling Marte about his groin injury, said Buck Showalter prior to Sunday's game.

I haven't seen any corresponding move for McCann and/or whether there is a backup catcher. I have seen tweets suggesting that McCann will likely need more than 10 days.

I assume they want to wait until they are certain that Mazeek can get there in time and in shape for the game before announcing a move. Otherwise, we might get an emergency activation of Dave Racianiello or one of the Brooklyn catchers (José Mena and Matt O'Neill).

Mazeika is there and active.

McCann will be out “weeks” not days, per DiComo.

I regretted the last time I wrote this, but home plate umpie has been been getting the job done nicely. The Fish have been complaining a bit, but they've been wrong.

These are sweetest of sounds for the Mets

Francisco to Luis to Dom

A trio of gloves that suppress Marlin threats

Francisco to Luis to Dom

Franciso fields balls hit way to his right

Luis relays them more quickly than light

Dominic stretches and ump cries "Good night!"

Sanchez is fun to watch in center. His feet seem to move so much that he's taking two un-necessary steps for every productive one. He's covering ground but he seems to be fighting himself right up until he catches the ball.

99 pitches and he's probably done. With 4 of the team's top relievers pitching yesterday, we're getting…Tommy Hunter for the 8th? Or Drew Smith?

I'm cool with bunting for a bezhit with two strikes, but I'd just like to see more of that with lesss than two strikes.
