G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Here's hoping whatever the Marlins couldn't do behind their bullpen in the tenth Saturday plagues their ace on Sunday. Or the Mets could just hit well and Taijuan Walker could pitch well.First pitch 1:40 on 11 Alive, as we used to say, though when it was 11 Alive, WTF would the Mets be doing there?

roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Status of the mighty McCann and the magnificent Marte?
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Per Metsblog: James McCann is heading to the 10-day IL with an oblique injury, while the Mets still await the results for Starling Marte about his groin injury, said Buck Showalter prior to Sunday's game.I haven't seen any corresponding move for McCann and/or whether there is a backup catcher. I have seen tweets suggesting that McCann will likely need more than 10 days.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 I assume they want to wait until they are certain that Mazeek can get there in time and in shape for the game before announcing a move. Otherwise, we might get an emergency activation of Dave Racianiello or one of the Brooklyn catchers (José Mena and Matt O'Neill).
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Alcantara Shmalshmantara. Mets have an All-Star starting pitcher going too.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Well, yeah, but that was posted before the announcement.GIVE ME SOME CREDIT BITCHIES!
roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Can we chip in and buy Dom a pair of shades?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 I regretted the last time I wrote this, but home plate umpie has been been getting the job done nicely. The Fish have been complaining a bit, but they've been wrong.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Sanchez is fun to watch in center. His feet seem to move so much that he's taking two un-necessary steps for every productive one. He's covering ground but he seems to be fighting himself right up until he catches the ball.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Two pitchers at the top of their game here.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Here we go, the Marlins have begun the sabotage
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Nimmo got on via error, but I'd have considered another 2-strike bunt there.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 (edited) He's got the biggest balls of them allWalker, that is Edited July 10, 2022 by Guest
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Damn, Walker has matched Alcantara, pitch for pitch.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 99 pitches and he's probably done. With 4 of the team's top relievers pitching yesterday, we're getting…Tommy Hunter for the 8th? Or Drew Smith?
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Wow. Walker es muy macho.Problem is that now you have the bullpen.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 WASHINGTON PULLS AHEAD OF ATLANTA ON A PINCH-HIT HOMER!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 I'm cool with bunting for a bezhit with two strikes, but I'd just like to see more of that with lesss than two strikes.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Dom is fighting himself again. Swinging scared.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Esco shows ya how to break an 0-18 slump
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Nope. Maybe our last best chance against Alcantara.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Short bench hurts; would like to be able to hit for Nido here.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Alcantara bends but does not break.Drew Smith tries to keep it in the park.
