It appears to be a routine maintenance day off for McNeil, who has started three consecutive contests since returning from a five-game absence due to right hamstring issue. It's not a surprise to see him get a breather with crafty left-hander Martín Pérez on the mound for the Rangers on Saturday afternoon. The 30-year-old second baseman should be back in there for Sunday's series finale.

I never have much faith in a Mets victory when they have to start Trevor Williams. He is essentially the 8th option and has proven to be pretty ineffective in the role he has had thrust upon him. Scherzer, Bassitt, DeGrom (oh to dream), and Megill can not get back soon enough.
