Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 But he's getting on base 41% of the time this season.

Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 wow...I realize people love Luis G, but he has no business batting leadoff...He's scored less than 26% of the time that he's gotten to first base on his career...That's because he usually bats 7th or 8th. Leadoff batters maybe have a little bit more baserunning skill than most, but mostly they're helped by having good hitters behind them. Guillorme isn't fast, but he's smart. It's not an awful choice. That being said, I would have put McNeil in that spot.Bracing myself for hearing "Guillermo" all night from the jamokes in the booth. It's already started.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Wow!, McSquirrel was quick inside on that pitch.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 I might be overstating this but in previous years when Jeff took two pitches that he thought were outside of the strike zone but called a strike, he would have mentally checked out of the AB. Not so, this year.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Alonso, setting the table for McNeil.

TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 It's amazing how much more I enjoy 2022 McNeil vs. 2021 McNeil.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Great too that they did all that immediately following a crap inning.-- and while the Phil's had to stand in a heavy rain. It's already stopped raining here
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Minor point, but they got those key hits & walks despite Eflin seemingly getting the call on every borderline pitch that inning.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Tough to complain when your leadoff hitter du jour is 3/3 in getting on base by the 5th inning.
Methead Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 This team is so fun to watchTalking about the Phillies of course
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Baseball like it oughta be

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 What was better, Schwarber missing the fly ball or smacking his CF in the face with his glove in the process?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 An RBI 1B by Lindor after fighting back from 0-2
