A lot of platitudes, generalizations, meaningless observations. "It's tough when you lose...if you've got one pitch that no one can hit, keep throwing it" sort of thing. Or have I been spoiled by good announcing?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 HOLY CRAP TERRIBLE OVERTURN PHILLIE STUPID GAMBLE PAYS OFF!!!
roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Jean Segura's never played in the post-season "You don't want to be on that list" Ya think? How do they figger it's desirable to play in the post-season?"I figured out something about third to first base--it's very level"Have these guys never considered shutting up if they have nothing to say?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 So they're telling me that that review Definitively Showed that Realmuto, who showed NO sign of being hit by the pitch, was hit by the pitch?!?!?

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Nice job by Girardi, removing his pitcher with 2 outs, none on, down 6 to get a lefty in to face Mazeika. Jackass.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Author Posted May 28, 2022 And ESPN has to work in one last Yankee comment. Amazin'.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Nice to have the series 'W' heading into the Wheeler game.At worst you still take two of three and stealing tomorrow's game would make it extra sweet against a division opponent.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 Not quoting anyone one person specifically, but some form of that quote has been used as an all-purpose rationale in favor of replay reviews for decades now. My point being that judging the justification for the rule on that standard alone is wildly misleading as it ignores so many downsides.

Guillorme is out hitting Smith and Davis right now and may just be better than either of them. of course, if the DH spot is the one that is 'open' you might expect Plummer or Magnum or Vientos to be the best option in the organization right now if defense doesnt matter.
