Spray painted something in the yard the other day and when I picked the newspaper back up, I opened it to see this! How did I miss it?? I know how actually; I didn't read the paper that day!

Glad I found it though!

Waitaminnit!

You had a newspaper THAT old?

And didn't look at it to see why you had kept it that long before you used it?

This leads to so many other questions. :)

Houstan sounds a derisive nickname for the Space City neighborhoods where the central Asian immigrants live.

speaking of Houstan...anyone other than me here watch the animated "Apollo 10 and a half"? Watched it with my family... considering it was historical fiction, they had a good amount of real historical information in it...I was entertained like I was a kid again

Today I was looking through some of my moms stuff.

I found a letter from an insurance person, to my dad, answering him as to Rusty's current whereabouts.

She told dad that Rusty had just opened a restaurant in New York City.

I wonder why dad asked her that? 🤔

What year was the letter? He had two restaurants, the original up in the 70's?

Later on he had a 'fancier' one on Fifth Avenue. First time we went there it was

pretty good and the second time not so much so.

Right, I think I was only to the original once. I took my Mom in the 80's

I guess and it was the one and only time she was ever in a cab. She didn't

believe in springing for a cab when one could walk or take the subway.

My recollection is the place was kinda gloomy and not well lit. Not many

people for a weekend lunch date. We had ribs, they were nothing special.

We walked back to GCT, a second cab ride would have traumatized her.

=whippoorwill post_id=115103 time=1671480218 user_id=79]Actually it's dated March 9, 2007

Which is just a few months before dad died.

KC do you remember when we met Rusty? It seems like it was a year or so before that. I wonder if that is what prompted dad to ask.

But why would he ask his insurance agent???

I have pictures too 🙂 and in dad's office there's still a picture of me and Rusty. Gosh it seems like yesterday.

It's cool that you've met Rusty several times!
