Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Riding on this game is the difference between an impressive (3-1) series win against a top opponent vs a disappointing split after a hot (2-0) start.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Author Posted April 21, 2022 You betcha. Would love to have Cookie pitch terrific again.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Too much Guillorme. He's not hitting. I know he's got the best 2B glove but I want to see JD or Dom in the hitting order over Luis. Especially with Marte getting a breather.OE: Didn't notice that he's playing SS to spell Lindor. Fine, he's your backup SS, but it's still too much Guillorme early.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Delroy Lindor pours himself a cup of Coca-Cola for a 1-0 lead.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Giants tie it as Keith correctly (but after the fact) calls out the Mets on their defensive positioning.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Nice small ball for an extra run.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Lindor is getting designated hits!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 If we're scoring in an arithmetic sequence, having scored one in the first and two in the second, we can be expected to score three in the third. If we're scoring in a geometric sequence, having scored one in the first and two in the second, we can be expected to score four in the third.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Crunchy base-hit goodness!
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Mark Canha with the two out knock! Just the kind of moment that the 2021 Mets would have shoved up their own keesters.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 'Those two-out Ribeye steaks are killers, Gare'
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Maybe some little-known lefthanded-hitting infielder kidnapped Guillorme, showed up at the park the next day, and took his job, claiming that he was Luís without a beard.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Lindor as a DH has been an effective experiment. It's great to see a hard hit ball up the middle scooting through again. That may be, in part, a product of the Mets finally countering the shift with bunts and slaps the other way.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Canha is making me say to myself, "Hey, maybe this guy is going to be a lot better than I thought he would be." I recall, almost forty years ago, thinking the same thing about Howard Johnson. It's early yet, but it's a nice thought.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 When Gary throws it to the studio for an update, MLB.tv viewers don't get the report along with the SNY audience. We get five or 10 seconds of silence, while the cameras stay with the game. But just now, Gary threw it to Sal in the studio, and didn't kill his own mic, and you could clearly hear him stuffing a cherry blintz in his mouth, saying, "WHY are we showing Yankee highlights?"
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Carrasco crisply working through the Giant lineup. Only 72 pitches thru 6.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 As positive as my experience has been so far with the SNY App, I will continue to follow weekday matinees on XM as I find it easier to multitask with just audio, plus I enjoy the dulcet tones of Mr. Rose with the call.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Cookie cruising, I'm so happy I could pee.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Wayne Kirby still looking like he swallowed a walrus, if not actually looking walrus-y.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Mets have one run home in the eighth, but with better baserunning, they could have had three.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Shoulda scored more than once in that frame. Not Nido's finest hour.
