Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 NAME: Eduardo EscobarAGE: 33POSITION: Third Base (and everywhere else)NUMBER: 10NICKNAME: El De La PicafWAR IN 2021: 3.0ZIPS PROJECTION FOR 2022: 2.9Somewhere in a big free agency frenzy, the Mets grabbed me up. I'm probably going to be a thirdbaseman, but I may play second or short or a different position every day. I know that's pretty ambiguous for a guy who is projected to have the fifth-highest fWAR on the team, but versatile everyday utility types can have that kind of value. That's why it was a big deal when the Mets got Bill Pecota and when they got Jed Lowrie and wh ... well, maybe I should shut up now.Yeah, maybe you want to shop for super-utility guys on a lower shelf and catch a Desi Relaford or a Jonathan Villar in a good year, but the Mets went big on me, and I'm going to sit here and say they know what they are doing. I've got five kids to feed and I'm a Venezuelan infielder (though I've somehow never worn 13) that still has some VALUE.But value is an abstract thing. You've got to tell me what my 2022 season will look like in the REAL WORLD.[FIMG=325]https://nypost.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2022/03/20220318_MetsSpringTraining013cs.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&w=1024[/FIMG] [FIMG=375]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FFjuWxcWUAcRKBt?format=jpg&name=medium[/FIMG][FIMG=484]https://www.bardown.com/polopoly_fs/1.1086429!/fileimage/httpImage/image.PNG_gen/derivatives/landscape_620/eduardo-escobar.PNG[/FIMG] [FIMG=216]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FOxkaD5WYAMfdkq.jpg[/FIMG]

smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 .265/.340/.440 with 22 homers. Not earth-shattering, but decent. And 90% of his starts come at third base.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 He's pretty much Asdrubal Cabrera if you switch their slugging and OBP figures. That's a pretty good palooka to have on your side.260/340/440 17 bombs, 85 ribbies, 31 doubles, 3 triples
