bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 It's fine. The players like each other, they have the horse in the dugout and all those cute hand signals. That's what counts.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 6, 2021 Author Posted August 6, 2021 NOT. Alright.I'm sorry. I seem to have lied.

Scott (soon to be unemployed) and Sandy (soon to retire) made one move. Maybe they knew that the season was going down the tubes.

The smoke has cleared, the mirror is cracked and deGrom has vanished.Yup. Stroman et al are seeing how tough it is to pitch when you know that if you give up 2 runs , you almost assuredly get a loss. The Mets noffense lives.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Let's make sure we have the same approach at the plate tomorrow. I'm sure eventually it will start working.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Did Luis think that Stroman would hit into a DP and that was Nimmo's job? If he swung and hit into a DP, unless it went to the 3B or P, it would have meant a run.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Why was Diaz pitching the 8th in a non-save situation? That baffled, then angered us.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 A thoroughly demoralizing experience. Not sure what it's going to take for them to get their shit together. With 13 games coming up against the Dodgers and Giants and no sign of deGrom or Lindor, this is going to go south very quickly. There needs to be some real soul-searching this winter about how this team is constructed. They have good pieces but nothing meshes.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 West was consistent, I'll give him that. Six inches off the plate was a strike for everyone. I guess that's why his consistency numbers are better than his accuracy score.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 West had a very wide strike zone, but he was pretty consistent with it throughout the game. The Mets did not lose due to West's ball and strike calls.
