A walk, a sacrifice bunt getting the runner to second, a sacrifice fly getting him to third, and a run-scoring wild pitch.

One hit in the last 14 2/3 innings, and it was a routine grounder through a spot abandoned by the secondbasseman.

Jacob deGrom became the first pitcher checked under the illegal grip substance guidelines as he left the mound after the top of the first. The umpire checked his hat, glove and belt and he and catcher Tomas Nido walked off with big smiles after getting cleared.

First hit of the game for the Braves on a misplayed fly ball to left center.



Despite deGrom's ridiculous success, he sure looks like he's grinding to me. But the Panda pops out.



I'm guessing he's coming out.

Damn. But at least one of the dumbest rules in the game saves a run (with two outs, a runner on first should be able to score on a ground-rule double).
