Several Mets who you never expected came aboard in the last month. They come with high numbers and mixed backgrounds, and joined the team from outside the organization.

The best performer among them is the best performer among them. In fact, as I type this, Billy McKinney just hit his second homerun of the game. But who is the guy who most bonded. Who is the one who most clearly became "Oh, yeah, he's a Met"?

I don't see how we can be expected to vote considering it's impossible to tell who is Brandon Drury versus Billy McKinney versus Whatever Blankenhorn.

I feel like the Baseball Gods are fucking around with me for starting the discussion on Dark Horse Mets.

Speaking of Dark Horse Mets, I believe I chose Luis Rojas. *cough* *cough*

3 1/2 games up in first place, baby! lol

These fill-ins have been terrific, at least in several cases. It will be hard for the Mets to decide who has to go to make room for the returning regulars.

I didn't include the Fargases and such who were already in the organization. Perhaps I should have.

In many ways, Cameron Maybin was the Metliest of then all.

Well put.

It's really interesting when you think about how desperate their promotion of him was. They needed help at every position but catcher, but he was the only batsman left who didn't require them to remove somebody else from the roster.

Are you sure that's the right move? Putting Mazeika on the 40 man? What if we get stuck in a roster crunch?

Come on. Be realistic. Do you know how many guys would have to get hurt before we even consider calling him up? And even if we do, it's not like he's going to bat in any big spots.
