Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 I wonder if the step on 1st then try for the tag play at 2nd would have been a better option there?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 Even with that bit of a hiccup inning, JdG is still at 4 innings worth of pitches (60) thru 5
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2021 Author Posted May 31, 2021 That Leyba AB might be one of the stupidest things we'll see for weeks.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 No Gary, I'm going to pass on watching Roberts & Carton on SNY weekdays at 4

For two, he played close to the bag, so a good percentage of what he fielded had him in the vicinity.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 My God, he just unveiled his first curveball, and it was perfect.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 I'm about to jinx things, especially since the 7th inning is when the brakes tend to get slammed on these things, but this is six full innings in just over 90 minutes.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 I'm fading fast here. deGrom is cruising and there's not gonna be a no hitter. I think I can bag this day.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 Jacob's lost bat was helicoptering right towards some guy in a white shirt who appeared to have no clue that there was a baseball game in his general vicinity.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 That Leyba AB might be one of the stupidest things we'll see for weeks. On the second and third pitches, I'm thinking, "He's got to give him that same pitch but maybe an inch further inside."Anybody else, I'd think, "But that's probably too much of a risk of hitting the guy."
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 Poor Kelly had no business pitching to Alonso there. His manager left him out there to dry.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 Oh I stayed up just late enough to see that blast, yay for me
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 This team is playing like they've gotten a monkey or two off their backs.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 That's it for Jake. I guess he's pitching too well to stay in the game.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 Is there anything to the idea that they had such a short season last year that there is some concern to not let outings go longer than necessary in the early part of this season?
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 (edited) Would another 15 pitches have hurt Jake after only throwing 70? But 6 up/downs were his limit, I guess. Edited May 31, 2021 by Guest
