bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 (edited) The Mets go for two in a row against the Atlanta Braves. Game time is 7:20 so that gives SNY an extra 10 minutes to fill. The Mets will send Miguel Castro (RHP) against Tucker Davidson (LHP). Davidson is making his first start of the season.https://www.mlb.com/gameday/mets-vs-braves/2021/05/18/634107#game_state=preview,lock_state=preview,game_tab=,game=634107https://www.mlb.com/gameday/mets-vs-braves/2021/05/18/634107#game_state=preview,lock_state=preview,game_tab=,game=634107https://www.espn.com/mlb/preview?gameId=401227680https://www.espn.com/mlb/preview?gameId=401227680Weather: https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/weather.phphttps://www.rotowire.com/baseball/weather.phpOdds: Money Line: ATL-130 NYM +140 O/U: 8.5, LINE: Braves -1.5Game Notes:Mets: Braves: https://img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-images/image/upload/mlb/a6xlvpf8hy0hkyrolzds.pdfhttps://img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-images/image/upload/mlb/a6xlvpf8hy0hkyrolzds.pdfLineups:METS:1. Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 So, is Mookie Wilson available? He's well rested and not injured as far as I know....
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 We should have a poll to guess the two injuries of the day.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Well, Nido got three hits yesterday, but I was keeping an eye on him and his throwing hand seemed to be swelling a little.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Not to be confused with a GLAAD lesion which is an entirely separate injury.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Author Posted May 18, 2021 In tonight's lineup (above), there are only 2 players who were in the Opening Day lineup (remember that Pillar started over Dom);If you had Nido batting 5th on any date after March, you won! He had three hits last night which feel like the number that McCann has had all season.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 So is the lineup always going to be pitcher eighth, Johnchewy ninth as long as we're short outfielders?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Relief pitchers are the Mets' secret offensive weapon.Johneshwy Fargas seemed to hit one as far as he could and the leftfielder didn't have to move.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Lindor hasn't hit a ball in a week as hard as Hunter's single right there.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Villar gets the same pitch and shows 'em how it's done.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Edgy MD wrote:Johneshwy Fargas seemed to hit one as far as he could and the leftfielder didn't have to move.He didn't move on Villar's ball either.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Sheesh, I couldn't imagine how much laughing would hurt with a honker like Pillar has.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Where would this club be without the magnificent contribution of Jonathan "Fuck You, Muthafuckas" Villar?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Acuña still loves yellow but left behind the bananashoes today.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 I'm Pete Alonso: Do I suck?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Imagine how good our pitching would be if we got even ONE borderline call so far tonight?
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Lee's got a nice speedy swing but you can see the distance between ball and bat when he uses it
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Truist Park organist played "Come and Go with Me" for Dominic Smith, and I thought, "Huh?"And then I thought, "Dom-Dom-Dom-Dom-Dom ... ."
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Alonso hitting a sac fly with a runner on third was more encouraging than most of his homers.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Freeman cuts the lead to one run and they need to find 12 more outs from this pitching staff.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Fortunately, Marcel Ozuna is hitting worse than Dom Smith so far.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Very sparkly. Like a holiday.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 So, May is up this inning so he's gone.I figure the Mets are going to try to get three outs from Diaz, three from Loup, and three from ... Smith? Barnes? Jeurys?
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Loup looked good there that time through. As opposed to May, serving up hard hit balls all week.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Geez didn't even have time to start a Johneswhy Fargas Fan Club before Villar erased him
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Lindor needs to put that batting helmet in the dishwasher
