honestly they should have hit for mccann.

I wouldn't have.

7 inning game, bases loaded top of the 4th with no out.

That is a huge moment. I think Dom is better than McCann, current struggles included.

You can't tell me that Nido vs McCann is a massive difference offensively.

I'll counter with: LHP, bad sun field, not a faster runner. no outs, taking out the catcher early in Game 1 of a DH (even a shorter one)

Go with Peraza so!

- also Nido has to be able to do 4 innings plus 7 - or if he does the final 4 then McCann can start Game 2.

Quality work Marcus Stroman.

Go with Peraza

Peraza owns a 79 career OPS+ and 2 ABs this year.

We've soured on McCann (coming off 120 & 143 OPS+ seasons) awfully quickly haven't we?

I'm not saying that he can't turn it around, but he's looking terrible right now that was our best opportunity to score multiple runs.

Everyone else--ARE YOU FRIGGING KIDDING ME?

that's true. the 3 man bench plus injured Nimmo wouldn't be my plan and I did point out the craziness of the makeup of the 40 man before.

But 7 inning games are different. It isn't just the 'length' its the fact that the chances of getting into the weaker relievers is reduced and so on. I think you have to see bases loaded and nobody out, when you're down by two runs as an extremely high leverage moment.

No idea, but it's a pretty small sample size when emotions and rooting interest are tossed.

Of course, you can't send an interpreter to the mound and have that "not count" as a mound visit. I know that and I'm not paid by MLB. Mound visits should only be allowed to remove a pitcher. No more of this "let's stop the game so everyone can watch us have a meeting in the middle of the playing field" garbage that only is permitted in baseball.

Well, honestly, business meetings in the middle of the field happen 90 times per game in football.

I don't mind mound conferences. It's certainly kind of bullshit when they are used as a stalling tactic, but I think MLB is attacking the wrong thing there.
