Well, I'm pretty sure we have at least two or three Dellin Betanceses on the list right now.

But if you have 17 DL'd players, it's certainly unlikely that they'd all be role players. Strange that there have been no catchers among them, though. (Tomás Nido immediately plunges his hand into batter[y] acid.)

I'm thinking the Mets should offer the Rockies $20 million for Trevor Story. (I wish his parents had named him "Troy".) You have to think that the Rockies would rather have the cash than the player. Story could play third base for the rest of the season. Davis can go into the heavily depleted outfield when he returns. Bowie Kuhn wouldn't approve of this idea, but he's dead at the present time.

Not good. Got slower as inning progressed.

BTW, St.Lucie is horribly run. No programs or scoreboard. None of the people working here knows anything about anything - “Beats me. I just watch the elevator.” Gift store doesn't have the passport stamp.

The renovations are nice.

Thor will not throw for another six weeks (from Amazin' Avenue):

[bLOCKQUOTE]According to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo, the starting pitcher has been shut down for at least six weeks after his right elbow was found to have some inflammation. With that break and the time it would take for him to complete another rehab assignment, it is now clear that we will not see Syndergaard pitching in the majors until August at the earliest.[/bLOCKQUOTE]

He is a FA after this season so it is possible that he has thrown his last pitch as a Met... or, to be positive, that he'll be a September and post-season asset.

iow, like Matz and Wheeler before him, Syndergaard is on, or at least much closer to, the two year track for TJS recovery rather than one year.

My prediction, at the moment anyway, is that Noah accepts a QO this winter.

It'd make sense for him to build a little value, especially if he sees little or no action this year (which is looking more and more likely).

So, the guy you want to lock up, suddenly, isn't Syndergaard, and it's not Conforto.

It's ... Stroman!

More seriously, the 2021–2022 free agent class, at this moment, looks pretty incredible.

Is there a Mets injury thread? Because if there isn't, there should be.

Just when he was getting real good, Joey Lucchesi suffers a UCL tear. He'll probably need the ol' Tommy John.

See ya' in 2023.

Any word on time frame for Familia?

I'm OK with him taking a long time.

So basically on the last 48 hours it's: Lucchesi (probably forever), Gsellman, Stroman, plus maybe Villar and maybe Nido.

That's about our standard pace for '21

oe: and I forgot Familia
