Was Dusty Senior a ballplayer? I see no mention of that on his Wikipedia page. My first thought had been that Dusty's dad was a Negro League player and he added the Jr. because now his father is, retroactively, a major league player. But I see no evidence that that's the case.

Sometimes, like our own Albert Almora, Jr., you wear the Jr. even if your father has no fame at all. Melvin Upton, Jr. too.



It just seems notable to see it done so late in the game, after over five decades in a major league uniform.

It's become fashionable among a handful of NFL'ers with a namesake son to wear Sr. on the back of their jersey.

Mets pretty much have all the first-stringers going in that A-game, with J.D. Davis DHing and Guillorme at third.

Mets could be on ten game losing streak and he's like, 'ya know, there was some

flash there a few games back that needs to resurface itself.'

Anthony Recker tidbit: he finished his ML career in2017 with 7 ABs for the Braves.

Had he notched 2 hits in those 7 trips he would have had a .201 BA for his career.

But he went 1-for-7 and wound up at .199 instead.
