LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Walker looking solid as hell today, too. Good things generally happen for strike-throwers.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 That's pretty much the lesson of 2015. Bartolo threw nothing but strikes and everybody else in the rotation got the message.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 I feel like the Mets have had Carlos Martinez' number for a few years now.But thanks for the lousy defense, Cards.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Until I learn different, I'm assuming new Cards pitcher Tommy Parsons is the grandson of 1965 Met Tom Parsons.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 After a big offensive inning for the Mets, they get a 1-2-3 lockdown inning from Jerry-Flo.

The way he and has locks are flowing this spring, I would NOT be crushed to seek him delay his SNY/MLBTV career another year.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Ozzie, who had been having a big spring, is doing his best to get the Cards back into this one.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Keith sounds like he's been eating the whole game.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 McNeil's been hit by three pitches today! That's six HbPs on the spring for him, versus two hits.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 7-0 is now 7-5.I'm worried Oswald may not make the cut.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Johneshwy Fargas just drove one to left center, that was gathered up before it reached the track, and while I'm wondering if there's going to be a play at second, he was heading for third. And the throw there wasn't particularly close. He looked like Mookie going around the bases there.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 Mets put up consecutive deuces in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings, currently cruising with a 6-0 lead. Lindor an Conforty both have gone deep.deGrom was sloppy by his standards, giving up three hits and two walks in his 4 2/3 innings of scoreless ball, striking out five and lowering his spring ERA to 0.67.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Got no video, but it looks like the Mets have turned a triple play in this one.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Triple-play Mets are rallying in the eighth and a three-run shot by Albert Almora, Jr. has pulled within 5-4.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 I watched it three times and wasn't clear on what happened.I think it was a line drive to the second baseman, who then threw to shortstop to get the runner who was forced to return to the base, and then a throw to first to get the runner who was also forced to return?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 You tend to take for granted the multiple angles you get during a regular season game. And then you see a highlight from a spring training game or a minor league game, and you're thinking, "Is that all I'm gonna see?"
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Astros manager Dusty Baker is now identifying himself as "BAKER JR." on the back of his jersey. He came out of the dugout to examine a player who had been hit by a pitch, and I thought a son of his had joined his coaching staff.
