bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 We haven't had any bad news about the Mets for a week or so. Today we learned that Seth Lugo can't throw for 6 weeks due to a " loose body in his right elbow" that requires surgery.https://newyorkmets.medium.com/medical-update-on-seth-lugo-ad45eca4bf29https://newyorkmets.medium.com/medical-update-on-seth-lugo-ad45eca4bf29

Now 36 years old, he's had a nice career as a reliever, and he's been particularly effective in recent years, putting up a 2.74 ERA in 289.0 innings from 2017 through 2020. Throw in the fact that he's averaged more than an inning per appearance, and he seems like a particularly useful option for however long Lugo is out. Let's start a movement to bring Yusmerio Petit HOME.We have been Yusmerio-less for far too long.Later
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 Lugo was the only reliever I didn't have apprehensions about. (I haven't seen Trevor May pitch, Diaz has as much talent as anybody but I still don't trust him further than I can throw him, and the rest are AAAA at this point.) The good news is he'll likely still play most of the season, and our small army of questionable relievers might sort itself out in the meantime with a couple outperforming median expectations.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 I used to have a loose body after a few beers. Lugo has always been a ticking time bomb.
