G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Did we miss Sewald going to Seattle? It happened on January 7.Paul's first MLB win came after three seasons, a thousand or so demotions/callups and fourteen losses. He has one more win than the rest of us, unless Ron Taylor is lurking, in which case, one more win than most of the rest of us.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Miss it?Paul Sewage was no longer a Met.Are you kidding?Addition by subtraction.Later
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 He didn't quite have the ears, but I always thought he looked like a young Isringhausen. Hope he gets to enjoy a little late career success like Izzy. https://dehayf5mhw1h7.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/sites/402/2017/04/08112511/paul-sewald.jpg>https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mvhsQAhQwtM/Ug--GITQNFI/AAAAAAAAvUY/xUnWcR2B0Xk/s400/Izzy.jpg>
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Sewald is totally going to be an asset.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 I remember the Mets called on Sewald to pitch an exhibition game against the big club when they were trying to pretend they supported their AAA team being out in Vegas, and Sewald (a Vegas local, donchaknow) pitched really well that day. This was before he ever got up to the club.I also remember his end: I biked past a locked-down, COVID-bubbled MCU Park and peered through the chain-links into the bullpen and there he was, banished. "Hey Paul Sewald! Let's Go Mets!!" and got a fist-pump.Seemed like a nice fella who's determination overcame a shortage in the talent department better than most. I was always surprised he lasted as long as he did.
LWFS Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 I always thought his stuff and weird delivery would add up to more.Hey, at least the Mariners have to watch him in Spring Training along with Kelenic.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 He's among my picks for dudes who got jerked around insufferably by the AAA-MLB shuttle. His minor league numbers are très sucré.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Did a semi-funny commercial with Jerry Blevins for a Mets sock giveaway promo. Outside of that, not much.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Remember when Sewald won the Schaefer Reliever of the Year award when he might not have even been the Mets third best reliever that year? What a gang-up-on-me clusterfuck that was. It turned out to be my fucking fault that Sewald won an award he didn't deserve to win.http://www.thecranepool.net/phpBB32/posting.php?mode=reply&f=1&t=30092http://www.thecranepool.net/phpBB32/posting.php?mode=reply&f=1&t=30092
