ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Doug Peterson is a hulking 6'6 240 lb guy with terrific stuff. Maybe a true find this seasonLets get some hits!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 If only Doug Peterson had a chance to have Mike Plawecki as his catcher...
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Shouldn't a game with guys named Wright and Peterson pitching be played at an Air Force Base in Ohio?

Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 The lineup I see on Twitter has P.U. DHing and batting 6th, Rosario 8th, and Vincenzo Nido catching and batting 9th.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 These names are confusing, but I guess this is the order.Sorry, Doug!
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Sucky as this team has been, Zimmo and McNeil at bats are fun to watch.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Woman behind home plate reminds of Wayne's World dude.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Pete Alonso is killing the Mets
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Indeed. Bases loaded, none out, one run in would be a nice place to be right now.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 I'm already getting a wild-pitcher-gets-away-with-bad-stuff-in-the-first-then-finds-a-groove kind of loss.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 i thought that was a hit for sure. damn.

Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 The Mets still have Lagares? I just assumed he was gone and I missed it.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 I like Peterson's slider. It's not the nastiest thing, but he finds the plate with it.It'll be interesting to see if he can get lefties to chase it. It probably isn't hard enough to look like a fastball.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 I feel like Gelbs should be giving up the analysis duty today and should be working the Céspedes story. Hopefully Eamon McAnaney and Maria Marino are on the case.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 I also feel like we should've bunted Alonso there.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Yes, Keith, I can fault McNeil there.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 And the Braves draw first blood and are in a good position to draw more, despite the Mets having 50 baserunners.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Tough to find a more incompetent stretch of RiSP hitting in like ... oh maybe the history of the planet.Every inning there are multiple runners on and we've yet to not only get a runner in but yet to get a ball out of the infield. We're up to something like 1 of the last 17 w/RiSP and even that one hit didn't knock in a run. Someone would have to do some digging to find the actual last hit to score a run.And now here are the braves getting runs in with weak grounders and walks.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Another leadoff hit ... so no chance of scoring this inning.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 (edited) And lookie here ... yet another situation with multiple runners on is greeted by yet another weak-ass grounder followed by a KThis has now morphed from statistical anomaly to team-wide gross incompetence. Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 I guess I'm not liking Peterson's slider so much anymore.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 Two quick outs. Maybe this is the inning they score.
