Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I was hoping we'd somehow have 60 nine-inning games this year.That hope didn't last long.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 To quote Jeff McNeil, fuck
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 That was clearly audible, wasn't it?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Looks like the wheels are coming off.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Strickland can eat a box of dildos
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Well, this is just a flaming dumpster fire.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Dumb fake crowd noise.Stupid expansion of playoffs.Abomination that is the DH.Moronic extra inning rule.MLB doing its best to make baseball awful. It makes games like these even worse.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Let's go Mets. Dom Smooth in his spot
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 I liked our chances a lot better before those two lazy fly balls.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Alonso looks lostMets were terrific but for one Braves at bat
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Well, more than just one ABAfter two were out and no one on in the 9th, four of the next six Braves hitters reached base. Five of six if you want to count the guy on 2nd via the 'magic double'.

He wasn't all over the place in that inning, or that confrontation. He made a decent pitch, and Ozuna sold out to tag it, and he did. It will happen. This may feel the same as last year, but really, it doesn't feel the same as last year, y'know? That said, let's not do this again.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2020 Posted July 26, 2020 Well, if there's a save situation today, it better not be Diaz coming out of the bullpen. They have other options and I think Edwin's going to have to sit occasionally. It would also help if this 'greatest offensive lineup in years' could actually score some runs.Oh, and this extra inning rule is beyond stupid.

He was getting wild leading up to that pitch. The team has four guys with established records of closing. Let's not get carried away with trying to establish any one of them as the hero. That's just waiting for trouble, putting all your mangoes in one crate, as it were.Let's win 40 of 60 and if there are 40 saves to be had in there, let's get them 10 apiece, or something.
